Using Graphic Organizers to Scaffold Science Reading Comprehension, Oral Language Development, and Writing
In this session, attendees will discover how to strategically utilize graphic organizers to support language development in science. We will identify five primary text structures and their corresponding graphic organizers and how they help support reading comprehension. These graphic organizers can further be used to scaffold student production of science academic language in both conversations and in writing.
