Robert J. Resutek is an Associate Professor of Accounting and the PwC Faculty Fellow at the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He received his BBA and MAcc from the University of Michigan and his PhD in accounting from the University of Texas in Austin. Between his MAcc and PhD schooling, Bob worked for the corporate restructuring groups of PwC and FTI Consulting in Dallas, TX.
Prior to his move to Georgia, he was an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he taught introductory accounting to Dartmouth undergraduates and Financial Statement Analysis to Tuck MBAs. At the University of Georgia, he has taught financial accounting to undergraduate accounting majors and currently teaches Financial Statement Analysis to MAcc and MBA students, a course in which he won the outstanding MBA teaching award.
Bob has published articles in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting & Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Business, Finance, & Accounting, and is on the editorial board of the Review of Accounting Studies. His research centers on how the capital market interprets financial information.
Bob is married to Sarah, and they have three children. Outside of financial accounting, he enjoys spending time with his family and working to turn his land into a self-sustaining homestead.
Vernon J. Richardson is Distinguished Professor of Accounting and the W. Glezen Chair in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. He received his BA, MAcc, and MBA from Brigham Young University and a PhD in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has taught at the University of Arkansas, Aarhus University, Baruch College, Brigham Young University, Chinese University of Hong Kong Shenzhen, Baruch College, University of Kansas, Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University and China Europe International Business School (Shanghai).
He was formerly editor at the Accounting Review and is currently an editor at Accounting Horizons. He also served as associate editor at MIS Quarterly, Journal of Information Systems and the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems. He has published articles at the cross section of accounting and information systems in the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Contemporary Accounting Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Operations Management, and the Journal of Marketing.
Vern recently won the Outstanding MBA teaching award. In addition to Financial Statement Analysis, A Data Analytics Approach, Dr. Richardson has authored five other McGraw Hill textbooks all emphasizing data analytics titled “Introduction to Business Analytics (with Marcia Weidenmier Watson), “Data Analytics for Accounting” (with Katie Terrell and Ryan Teeter), “Introduction to Data Analytics for Accounting” (with Katie Terrell and Ryan Teeter), “Accounting Information Systems” textbook (with Janie Chang and Rod Smith) and “Cost Accounting: A Data Analytics Approach” (with Margaret Christ and Kip Holderness).
Vern is married to Connie, and they have twelve children (and eight grandchildren). He enjoys traveling, movies, personal finance and hanging out with his family.
