Live Webinar with Kim Flynn

Using Direct Instruction for effective Maths and/or Reading interventions at Key Stage Three

Thursday 23rd January 4-5pm (UK)

Register now for this webinar on how Direct Instruction programmes provide proven effective solutions for maths or reading interventions at Key Stage 3.

DfE data shows that 26% of children finishing primary school in the UK have not met the required standards in reading and 27% have not met the standards in maths. When these students transition to secondary school, the problem then becomes compounded.

This webinar will introduce you to the evidence-based 'Corrective Reading' and ‘Corrective Mathematics’ programmes. They are designed for learners from Year 4-adult who are at least two years behind year-level expectations. You can catch students up FAST. Teacher workload is reduced and results improve.

In this webinar, Kim will give you a brief overview of DI - a teaching method built by Siegfried Engelmann with over 50 years of extensive research backing. It focuses on explicit demonstration and practice and works particularly well for students who have little confidence and/or have low cognition. Kim has been using DI in her classroom for over eight years and has seen first-hand what a difference it can make to students’ progress and well-being.
